I am Denise Sage, raised in a traditional Jewish home, I’ve been watching my Mother and Bubby cooking in the kitchen as a very young child.
I am not a culinary professional though, have found over the years that my cooking has improved with experimenting with recipes and a bit of throwing things together as my Bubbly would call it, MIT-en DRINE-en or "Shitteryne" to cook without a recipe. Add a little of this, a little of that, a little of something else, without measuring.
Nisey’s recipes are a combination of traditional American cuisine and European foods. Recipes in this site start with favorites of my 3 boys and husbands.
